For BBC News, I produced this undercover investigation into the continued sale of illegal skin-lightening creams in UK shops, examining how potentially harmful products remained readily available despite restrictions on their sale.

The investigation was developed into coverage across BBC World News, BBC News at Ten, BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat, BBC digital and social platforms, and was subsequently picked up by national media including The Guardian, Refinery29, iNews and Metro.

The investigation led to enforcement action and a successful prosecution by Southwark Council in 2020 against one of the retailers featured in the reporting.
