For BBC News and BBC iPlayer, I co-produced, self-shot and directed this investigation into the viral ‘Turkey Teeth’ trend, following young people travelling abroad for cosmetic dentistry and examining the risks behind the promise of a new smile.

The investigation was rolled out across BBC News at Six, BBC Breakfast, radio, digital and social platforms, sparking a national conversation around dental tourism and widespread follow-up coverage across UK television, radio and press.

The accompanying BBC News article became the BBC’s top-performing story of 2022 for reaching underserved audiences, while ‘Turkey Teeth’ became the 20th most-Googled topic of the day.
